Intercoolers
An intercooler is a device used in turbocharged or supercharged engines to cool the air compressed by the turbocharger or supercharger. When air is compressed, its temperature increases, which can reduce engine efficiency and power. The intercooler helps lower the air temperature before it enters the engine, allowing for denser air and better combustion.
Intercoolers come in various designs, including air-to-air and air-to-water types. Air-to-air intercoolers use ambient air to cool the compressed air, while air-to-water intercoolers use a liquid coolant. Both types improve engine performance and help prevent overheating, making them essential for high-performance vehicles.
