Integrated Child Development Services
The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) is a government program in India aimed at improving the health, nutrition, and education of children under six years old. It provides a range of services, including supplementary nutrition, health check-ups, immunization, and preschool education, to ensure the overall development of young children.
ICDS also supports mothers by offering health and nutrition education, as well as promoting breastfeeding and proper childcare practices. The program is implemented through a network of Anganwadi Centers, which serve as community-based facilities to deliver these essential services to families in need.
