Indian rhinoceroses
The Indian rhinoceros, also known as the one-horned rhinoceros, is a large herbivorous mammal native to the Indian subcontinent. It is characterized by its single horn, which can grow up to 25 inches long. These rhinos have thick, wrinkled skin that resembles armor and are primarily found in grasslands and riverine forests.
Indian rhinoceroses are primarily solitary animals, although they may gather in small groups near water sources. They are herbivores, feeding on grasses, leaves, and fruits. Conservation efforts are crucial for their survival, as they are classified as vulnerable due to habitat loss and poaching for their horns.
