Indian Tribes
Indian tribes are distinct groups of Indigenous peoples in the United States, each with its own unique culture, language, and traditions. There are over 500 federally recognized tribes, such as the Navajo, Sioux, and Cherokee. These tribes have their own governance systems and often maintain a strong connection to their ancestral lands.
Many Indian tribes engage in various economic activities, including tribal gaming, arts and crafts, and natural resource management. They also work to preserve their languages and cultural practices, which are vital to their identity. Tribal sovereignty allows them to operate independently within the framework of U.S. law.
