Immunodeficiency
Immunodeficiency is a condition where the immune system is unable to effectively fight off infections and diseases. This can occur due to genetic factors, certain medical conditions, or the use of medications that suppress the immune response. People with immunodeficiency are more susceptible to infections and may experience more severe symptoms when they do get sick.
There are two main types of immunodeficiency: primary and secondary. Primary immunodeficiency is usually inherited and present at birth, while secondary immunodeficiency can develop later in life due to factors like HIV/AIDS, malnutrition, or chemotherapy. Both types require medical attention to manage and prevent complications.
