Illyrian Tribes
The Illyrian Tribes were a group of ancient tribes that inhabited the western part of the Balkans, primarily in what is now Albania, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were known for their warrior culture and engaged in various forms of trade and conflict with neighboring peoples, including the Greeks and Romans.
These tribes were not a unified nation but rather a collection of different groups, each with its own customs and leadership. The Illyrians played a significant role in the history of the region until their eventual conquest by the Roman Empire in the 1st century BCE.
