Ignatian Pedagogy
Ignatian Pedagogy is an educational framework developed by the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuits. It emphasizes a holistic approach to learning, focusing on the development of the whole person—intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. This method encourages critical thinking, reflection, and active engagement, allowing students to connect their learning to real-life experiences.
Central to Ignatian Pedagogy is the concept of cura personalis, or care for the individual. Educators are encouraged to understand and support each student's unique needs and backgrounds. This personalized approach fosters a sense of community and encourages students to become responsible, ethical leaders in society.
