INS Viraat
INS Viraat was an aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy, commissioned in 1987. Originally built for the British Royal Navy as HMS Hermes, it served for over three decades, playing a crucial role in various naval operations and exercises. The ship was capable of carrying a variety of aircraft, including Sea Harrier jets, which enhanced India's maritime capabilities.
In 2016, INS Viraat was decommissioned and later became a museum ship in 2020. It was a symbol of India's naval strength and served as a training platform for naval personnel. The carrier's legacy continues to inspire future generations in maritime defense.
