IC 410
IC 410 is a bright emission nebula located in the constellation Auriga. It is approximately 12,000 light-years away from Earth and is part of a larger star-forming region. The nebula is known for its distinctive shape, which resembles a cosmic "lobster," and contains several young stars that illuminate the surrounding gas and dust.
Within IC 410, there are also clusters of stars, including the open cluster NGC 1893. This cluster plays a significant role in the nebula's development, as the radiation from these young stars helps to shape the surrounding material. The nebula is a fascinating area for astronomers studying stellar formation and evolution.
