IC 2118
IC 2118, also known as the Witch Head Nebula, is a reflection nebula located in the constellation of Eridanus. It is approximately 1,000 light-years away from Earth and is associated with the bright star Rigel, which is part of the Orion constellation. The nebula gets its name from its shape, which resembles a witch's head.
The Witch Head Nebula spans about 3 degrees in the sky, covering a large area. It is primarily composed of dust and gas that reflect the light from nearby stars, giving it a faint blue hue. This nebula is an interesting object for astronomers studying star formation and the interstellar medium.
