Hungry Ghosts
"Hungry Ghosts" refers to a concept in various Asian cultures, particularly in Buddhism and Taoism, where these spirits are believed to be the souls of individuals who have died with unfulfilled desires or attachments. They are often depicted as having large stomachs and tiny mouths, symbolizing their insatiable hunger and inability to satisfy their cravings.
In Chinese folklore, the Hungry Ghost Festival, also known as the Ghost Month, is celebrated to honor these spirits. During this time, offerings of food, incense, and other items are made to appease the ghosts, ensuring they do not bring misfortune to the living.
