Human Dentition
Human dentition refers to the arrangement and types of teeth in the human mouth. Adults typically have 32 teeth, which include incisors, canines, premolars, and molars. Each type of tooth serves a specific function, such as cutting, tearing, or grinding food.
The primary dentition, or baby teeth, consists of 20 teeth that eventually fall out as a child grows. This process usually begins around age six and continues until about age twelve. Proper dental care is essential for maintaining healthy teeth and gums throughout life.
