House of Federation
The House of Federation is the upper house of the Federal Parliamentary Assembly in Ethiopia. It represents the country's diverse ethnic groups and is responsible for ensuring their interests are considered in national legislation. Members are elected by regional councils, reflecting the federal structure of the nation.
The House plays a crucial role in the legislative process, reviewing laws passed by the lower house, known as the House of Peoples' Representatives. It also has the authority to interpret the Constitution and address issues related to regional autonomy and rights, promoting unity among Ethiopia's various ethnic communities.
