Hohle Fels
Hohle Fels is a prehistoric cave located in the Swabian Jura region of Germany. It is known for its archaeological significance, particularly for the discovery of ancient artifacts and artworks dating back to the Upper Paleolithic period. The cave has yielded some of the oldest known figurative art, including the famous Venus of Hohle Fels, a small statuette representing a female figure.
The cave was first excavated in the early 20th century and has since provided valuable insights into the lives of early humans. Findings include tools, animal remains, and musical instruments, such as the Hohle Fels flute, which is one of the oldest known musical instruments in the world.
