Hnutie za demokratické Slovensko
Hnutie za demokratické Slovensko (HDS) was a political movement in Slovakia that emerged in the early 1990s. It played a significant role in the peaceful transition from a communist regime to a democratic government following the fall of the Iron Curtain. HDS aimed to promote democratic values, human rights, and the rule of law in the newly independent nation.
The movement was instrumental in the formation of the first democratic government in Slovakia after the split from Czechoslovakia in 1993. HDS eventually transformed into a political party, contributing to the development of Slovakia's political landscape and fostering a commitment to democratic principles.
