Hetepheres I
Hetepheres I was an ancient Egyptian queen, known primarily as the wife of Pharaoh Sneferu and the mother of Khufu, the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza. She lived during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, around 2600 BCE. Hetepheres I is often recognized for her significant role in royal lineage and her contributions to the development of pyramid construction.
Her burial site was discovered in 1925 at Giza, revealing a wealth of artifacts, including furniture and jewelry, which highlighted her status and the artistry of the time. The discovery provided valuable insights into the customs and daily life of ancient Egyptian royalty.
