Herbert Boyer
Herbert Boyer is an American biochemist best known for his pioneering work in genetic engineering. He co-founded Genentech, one of the first biotechnology companies, in 1976. Boyer's research focused on recombinant DNA technology, which allows scientists to manipulate genes and create genetically modified organisms.
Boyer's contributions to science have had a significant impact on medicine and agriculture. His work has led to the development of important products, such as insulin for diabetes treatment. He has received numerous awards for his achievements, including the National Medal of Science and the Lasker Award.
