Henry Knyvet, 1st Baron Knyvet
Henry Knyvet, 1st Baron Knyvet (c. 1560–1622), was an English nobleman and politician. He was born into a prominent family and became known for his role in the court of King James I. Knyvet was appointed as a Member of Parliament and later received the title of Baron Knyvet in 1603, reflecting his loyalty and service to the crown.
Knyvet is perhaps best remembered for his involvement in the discovery of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605. His actions led to the arrest of several conspirators, including Guy Fawkes. This event significantly impacted English history, reinforcing the monarchy's power and shaping the political landscape of the time.
