He belonged to the House of Luxembourg and was the son of Henry II, Duke of Luxembourg and Margaret of Brabant. In 1308, Henry III became the Duke of Luxembourg after his father's death. He was also involved in various military campaigns and alliances, which helped solidify the power of the Luxembourg dynasty.
