Henry II the Pious
Henry II the Pious was a Polish prince born in 1196, known for his devout Christian faith and commitment to the church. He ruled as the Duke of Silesia and was a member of the Piast dynasty. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the church's influence and promote peace among the nobility.
In 1241, during the Mongol invasions of Europe, Henry II led his forces against the Mongols at the Battle of Legnica. Despite his bravery, he was defeated and killed in battle. He is remembered as a martyr and a saint in the Catholic Church, celebrated for his piety and dedication to his faith.
