Henry Grey, 1st Duke of Suffolk
Henry Grey, 1st Duke of Suffolk (1517-1554) was an English nobleman and politician during the Tudor period. He was the son of Henry Grey, 1st Marquess of Dorset and became a prominent figure in the court of Queen Mary I. In 1551, he was created Duke of Suffolk, a title that elevated his status among the English nobility.
Grey is best known for his role in the Lady Jane Grey succession crisis. In 1553, he supported his daughter, Jane, in her brief claim to the English throne. However, after Jane's execution, Henry Grey was imprisoned and later executed for treason in 1554.
