Henry Grey, 1st Marquess of Dorset
Henry Grey, 1st Marquess of Dorset (c. 1517–1554), was an English nobleman and politician during the Tudor period. He was the son of Thomas Grey, 2nd Marquess of Dorset and Margaret Wotton. Henry became a prominent figure in the court of King Edward VI and was known for his involvement in the political intrigues of the time.
In 1553, he played a significant role in the attempt to place Lady Jane Grey on the throne after the death of King Edward VI. This led to his eventual downfall, as the plan failed, and he was executed for treason in 1554.
