Henry FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton
Henry FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton, was born on September 28, 1735, and became a prominent British nobleman. He was the son of Henry FitzRoy, 2nd Duke of Grafton and Lady Henrietta Somerset. Grafton served as the Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1768 to 1770, during a time marked by political challenges and colonial unrest.
As a member of the Whig Party, Grafton faced difficulties in managing the growing tensions with the American colonies. He resigned from his position in 1770 and later held various roles in government, including serving as the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. He passed away on March 2, 1811.
