Hellinikon Airport
Hellinikon Airport was the main international airport serving Athens, Greece, from 1938 until 2001. Located in the suburb of Hellinikon, it was a significant hub for both domestic and international flights, facilitating travel for millions of passengers over the decades.
After its closure, the airport site underwent a transformation, with plans for redevelopment into a large urban park and residential area. The project aims to revitalize the area and create a modern space for leisure and living, reflecting the growing needs of the Athens metropolitan region.
