Harold II of England
Harold II of England was the last Anglo-Saxon king of England, reigning from January to October 1066. He was born around 1022 and became the Earl of Wessex. Harold is best known for his role in the pivotal Battle of Hastings, where he faced the invading forces of William the Conqueror.
His reign was marked by political turmoil and military challenges, particularly from the Normans and the Norwegians. Harold's claim to the throne was contested, leading to the famous battle on October 14, 1066, where he was killed, resulting in the end of Anglo-Saxon rule in England.
