Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease
Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) is a common viral infection primarily affecting young children. It is caused by viruses from the Coxsackievirus family and is characterized by fever, mouth sores, and a rash on the hands and feet. The disease is usually mild and resolves on its own within a week or so.
HFMD spreads through close contact, respiratory droplets, and contaminated surfaces. Symptoms may include sore throat, loss of appetite, and irritability. While there is no specific treatment, maintaining hydration and managing pain can help alleviate discomfort during recovery.
