Hanan Ashrawi
Hanan Ashrawi is a prominent Palestinian politician, activist, and scholar. Born on October 8, 1946, in Nablus, she gained international recognition for her advocacy of Palestinian rights and her role in the peace process. Ashrawi was a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and served as the first woman to be elected to the Palestinian Legislative Council in 1996.
In addition to her political work, Ashrawi is known for her contributions to education and civil society.
