Hamilcar
Hamilcar was a prominent Carthaginian general and military commander during the First Punic War (264-241 BC). He is best known for his leadership in battles against the Roman Republic and for his role in expanding Carthaginian influence in Sicily. Hamilcar was the father of the famous general Hannibal, who would later lead Carthage in the Second Punic War.
Hamilcar's military strategies and tactics laid the groundwork for future Carthaginian campaigns. After the defeat in the First Punic War, he focused on rebuilding Carthage's power and securing territories in Spain, where he sought to gather resources and recruit soldiers for future conflicts against Rome.
