Hamartoma
A hamartoma is a benign (non-cancerous) tumor-like growth that is made up of an abnormal mixture of cells and tissues. These growths can occur in various parts of the body, including the lungs, skin, and brain. Unlike malignant tumors, hamartomas do not spread to other parts of the body and are often discovered incidentally during imaging studies.
Hamartomas can vary in size and may not cause any symptoms. In some cases, they can lead to complications depending on their location. For example, a pulmonary hamartoma in the lungs may cause breathing difficulties, while a cerebellar hamartoma in the brain could affect coordination.
