Haiyan
Haiyan was a powerful tropical cyclone that struck the Philippines in November 2013. Known locally as Yolanda, it was one of the strongest typhoons ever recorded, with wind speeds reaching up to 195 miles per hour. The storm caused widespread devastation, particularly in the Eastern Visayas region, leading to significant loss of life and property.
The aftermath of Haiyan prompted a massive humanitarian response, with international aid pouring in to assist affected communities. Recovery efforts focused on rebuilding infrastructure, providing medical care, and supporting displaced families. The disaster highlighted the need for improved disaster preparedness and climate resilience in vulnerable regions.
