HMS Ajax was a British light cruiser launched in 1934 and played a significant role during World War II. In 1940, she was involved in the Battle of the River Plate, where she helped defeat the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee. Ajax's actions contributed to the Allied naval efforts in the South Atlantic.
The ship was equipped with various armaments, including 6-inch guns, and had a displacement of around 8,000 tons. After her service in the war, HMS Ajax continued to operate until she was decommissioned in 1948 and eventually scrapped in 1956.
