HMS Ajax
HMS Ajax was a Royal Navy light cruiser launched in 1934. It served during World War II and was known for its role in the Battle of the River Plate in 1939, where it engaged the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee. The ship was equipped with various armaments, including 6-inch guns, and played a significant part in naval operations throughout the war.
After years of service, HMS Ajax was decommissioned in 1948 and sold for scrap in 1957. The ship's legacy remains as a symbol of British naval strength during a challenging period in history.
