HFC-404A
HFC-404A is a hydrofluorocarbon refrigerant commonly used in commercial refrigeration systems. It is a blend of three different refrigerants: HFC-125, HFC-143a, and HFC-134a. HFC-404A is known for its efficiency in low-temperature applications, making it suitable for freezers and refrigerated transport.
Although HFC-404A has been widely used, it has a high global warming potential (GWP), which has led to regulatory efforts to phase it out in favor of more environmentally friendly alternatives. As a result, industries are exploring options like HFO-1234yf and other low-GWP refrigerants to reduce their environmental impact.
