H.266
H.266, also known as Versatile Video Coding (VVC), is a video compression standard designed to significantly reduce the file size of video content while maintaining high quality. It was developed by the Joint Video Experts Team (JVET), which includes experts from ITU and ISO/IEC.
This standard can achieve up to 50% better compression compared to its predecessor, H.265 or HEVC, making it ideal for streaming high-resolution videos, such as 4K and 8K content. H.266 is particularly beneficial for applications in virtual reality, video conferencing, and other areas where bandwidth efficiency is crucial.
