Håkon VI
Håkon VI was a king of Norway who reigned from 1343 to 1380. He was born in 1340 and was the son of Magnus VI of Norway and Ingeborg of Norway. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the monarchy and improve the kingdom's economy, although he faced challenges such as the Black Death, which significantly impacted Norway.
In 1355, Håkon VI married Margaret I of Denmark, which helped to unite the crowns of Norway and Denmark. This alliance laid the groundwork for the later formation of the Kalmar Union, which united the three kingdoms of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden under a single monarch.
