Gypjak Mosque
The Gypjak Mosque, also known as the Turkmenbashi Mosque, is located in the village of Gypjak, near Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. Completed in 2004, it is one of the largest mosques in Central Asia and serves as a significant religious site for the local Muslim community. The mosque features a stunning golden dome and intricate architectural designs that reflect traditional Islamic styles.
Adjacent to the mosque is the Gypjak Mausoleum, which is the burial site of Saparmurat Niyazov, the first President of Turkmenistan. The mausoleum, built in honor of Niyazov, showcases beautiful tile work and serves as a prominent landmark in the area. Together, the mosque and mausoleum symbolize the cultural and religious heritage of Turkmenistan.
