Gymnophiona
Gymnophiona, also known as caecilians, are a group of limbless, burrowing amphibians. They primarily inhabit tropical regions and are often found underground or in moist environments. Their elongated, cylindrical bodies resemble those of snakes, and they have smooth, moist skin that helps them retain moisture.
These creatures are unique among amphibians due to their lack of limbs and their specialized adaptations for a subterranean lifestyle. Gymnophiona possess sensory tentacles on their heads, which help them navigate and locate prey, primarily consisting of small invertebrates. They reproduce through internal fertilization, and some species exhibit parental care for their young.
