Gwenllian Ferch Gruffydd
Gwenllian Ferch Gruffydd was a Welsh noblewoman born around 1097. She was the daughter of Gruffydd ap Cynan, the King of Gwynedd, and became known for her role in resisting the Norman invasion of Wales. Gwenllian married Llywelyn the Great, further strengthening her family's influence in the region.
In 1136, Gwenllian led a significant uprising against the Normans, showcasing her leadership and military skills. Unfortunately, she was captured during the conflict and later died in captivity. Her legacy remains a symbol of Welsh resistance and determination against foreign rule.
