Gustav IV Adolf
Gustav IV Adolf was the King of Sweden from 1792 to 1809. He ascended to the throne at the age of 14 after the assassination of his father, Gustav III. His reign was marked by a strong commitment to absolutism and a resistance to democratic reforms.
During his rule, Gustav IV Adolf faced significant challenges, including military defeats in the Napoleonic Wars. In 1809, he was deposed in a coup and subsequently went into exile in Germany and Switzerland. He died in 1837, having never returned to Sweden.
