Gust Front
A gust front is a weather phenomenon that occurs when cool air from a thunderstorm downdraft spreads out and pushes into the surrounding warmer air. This sudden change in air pressure can create strong winds, often leading to a noticeable drop in temperature. Gust fronts can also trigger new thunderstorms as they lift warm, moist air.
When a gust front moves through an area, it can cause dust and debris to be lifted, creating a visible line of dust or haze. This phenomenon is often associated with severe weather events, such as those produced by thunderstorms and tornadoes.
