Guru Angad
Guru Angad was the second Guru of the Sikh faith, succeeding Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism. Born in 1504 in Fattuwal, Punjab, he was known for his dedication to the teachings of Guru Nanak and played a crucial role in spreading Sikhism. He established the Gurmukhi script, which became the standard writing system for the Punjabi language.
As a leader, Guru Angad emphasized the importance of community service and humility. He encouraged his followers to engage in sewa, or selfless service, and promoted the idea of equality among all people, regardless of caste or gender. His teachings laid the foundation for the growth of the Sikh community.
