Guale
The Guale were a Native American tribe that primarily inhabited the coastal regions of present-day Georgia and South Carolina. They were part of the larger Muskogean cultural group and were known for their fishing, hunting, and agriculture. The Guale lived in villages made of thatched houses and were skilled in pottery and basket-making.
In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Guale encountered European explorers and settlers, which significantly impacted their way of life. They were involved in trade with the Spanish and faced challenges from diseases and conflicts. The Guale eventually declined in population and influence due to these external pressures.
