Greek trireme
A Greek trireme was an ancient warship used by the Ancient Greeks around the 5th century BCE. It was characterized by its three rows of oars on each side, allowing for greater speed and maneuverability in naval battles. The trireme was typically about 37 meters long and could carry around 170 rowers, along with soldiers and supplies.
These ships played a crucial role in the Peloponnesian War and were instrumental in the naval dominance of city-states like Athens. The design of the trireme allowed for quick attacks and retreats, making it a formidable vessel in maritime warfare during its time.
