Great Stone-Curlew
The Great Stone-Curlew is a large, ground-dwelling bird found in parts of Asia and Australia. It has a distinctive appearance, characterized by its long legs, large eyes, and mottled brown plumage, which helps it blend into its surroundings. This bird primarily inhabits open grasslands, savannas, and coastal areas.
Great Stone-Curlews are nocturnal and are known for their unique, haunting calls at night. They feed mainly on insects, small mammals, and other invertebrates. Due to habitat loss and hunting, their populations are declining in some regions, making conservation efforts important for their survival.
