Great Shearwater
The Great Shearwater is a large seabird belonging to the family Procellariidae. It is known for its long wings and streamlined body, which allow it to glide effortlessly over the ocean. This bird primarily breeds on islands in the South Atlantic, such as those in the Falkland Islands and Tristan da Cunha.
During the non-breeding season, the Great Shearwater migrates north to feed in the North Atlantic, often seen near fishing boats. Its diet mainly consists of fish and squid, which it catches by diving into the water. The species is recognized for its distinctive dark upperparts and white underparts.
