Grand Fir
The Grand Fir, scientifically known as Abies grandis, is a large evergreen tree native to the western United States and Canada. It can grow up to 250 feet tall and has a straight trunk with a conical shape. The tree features flat, needle-like leaves that are dark green on top and have a silvery underside, giving it a distinctive appearance.
This species thrives in moist, well-drained soils and is commonly found in forests alongside other trees like Douglas Fir and Western Hemlock. The Grand Fir is valued for its wood, which is used in construction and paper production, and it also serves as an important habitat for various wildlife species.
