Grand Duke Paul Petrovich
Grand Duke Paul Petrovich was a member of the Russian royal family, born on September 20, 1754. He was the son of Emperor Peter III and Empress Catherine the Great. Paul became the Grand Duke of Russia and was known for his strong personality and controversial reign. He ruled from 1796 until his assassination in 1801.
His reign was marked by attempts to reform the military and government, but he faced opposition from various factions within the court. Paul was also known for his interest in Freemasonry and his efforts to promote the organization in Russia. His life ended tragically when he was murdered in a palace coup.
