Grand Duke Constantine Nikolaevich of Russia was born on September 8, 1827, as the second son of Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich and Princess Alexandra of Saxe-Altenburg. He served in the Russian military and held various commands, becoming known for his leadership during the Crimean War.
In addition to his military career, Constantine was involved in the arts and sciences, supporting cultural institutions in Russia. He was also a member of the Russian Imperial Family, which played a significant role in the country's history until the fall of the monarchy in 1917. Constantine passed away on June 13, 1892.
