Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich
Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich was a member of the Russian royal family, born on November 18, 1856. He was the son of Grand Duke Nicholas and Princess Alexandra of Saxe-Altenburg. Nicholas served as a military leader during World War I, holding the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Army from 1914 to 1915.
Despite his noble lineage, Nicholas faced challenges during the war, including criticism for military failures. He was eventually dismissed from his command and lived in exile after the Russian Revolution of 1917. He died on January 5, 1929, in Paris, France.
