Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna of Russia
Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna of Russia was born on June 26, 1899, as the second daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra. She was a member of the last imperial family of Russia, known for their tragic fate during the Russian Revolution. Maria was often described as charming and lively, with a close bond to her siblings, particularly her sisters Olga, Tatiana, and Anastasia.
During the upheaval of World War I and the subsequent revolution, Maria and her family were placed under house arrest. In 1918, they were executed by Bolsheviks, marking the end of the Romanov dynasty. Maria's life and legacy continue to be a subject of interest in Russian history.
